We also offer education workshops in a number of software environments, notably cartoon animation workshops using Flash or iStopMotion, or code workshops using Livecode.

 

Cartooning and Creative Thinking Workshop Rates for Schools (Working with Children certificate issued Ref: WWC0183017E exp 23/11/2018)

 

NB: all Cartooning & Creative Thinking workshop/seminar rates are subject to GST if conducted in Australia (add 10%).

 

Maximum class size 14. Age groups: Schools (don’t mix) 9 to 12 – 13 to senior secondary.

 

Cartooning and Creative Thinking Workshop Structure

 

Essentially, we cover 2 components and the available time allocated to the workshop will dictate the thoroughness and ‘depth’ at which each part is taught:

 

• Drawing Smart Not Hard (20% of content) – Designed to give students the parameters for developing their own drawing styles. NB. This is not a ‘How-To-Draw workshop.

 

• How Cartoonists Think of Jokes (80% of content) – shows how to develop systems for processing information in ways that produce humor. Develops Linear, Lateral and Divergent Thinking, Creative Thinking, Visual Thinking, Design Thinking and Problem Solving skills.

Where travel from Blackheath to the workshop venue exceeds 2 hours and the workshop is 4 hours or more, allow 1 nights accommodation.  Where travel from Blackheath to the workshop venue exceeds 3 hours and the workshop is 4 hours or more, allow 2 nights accommodation.  International Workshops: allow travel at cost, accommodation at cost and corporate rate (as above).  Travel to cartooning workshops in Sydney is free as we often combine it with business and trips to family.
